Directions to Casa Gigliola

Casa Gigliola is located in Monticiano not far from the Abbey of San Galgano and the highway that connects Siena and Grosseto (SS223-E78, 13km).

From Florence and Siena:

Exit the autostrada at Firenze Certosa and head in the direction of Siena/Grosseto. When you arrive at Siena, continue along highway SS223 towards Grosseto. Approximately 20km after Siena, you will find the exit for San Lorenzo a Merse and Monticiano on your right, only few meters after passing a gas station on your left. Leave the SS223/E78 and get on the SP32 for 13km. When you reach a T-junction at the entrance to the village of Monticiano, turn left to enter the village. You will arrive at a large square with a modern marble fountain. Turn right and follow Via Grossetana, and then turn right at Via Borgianni and follow the signs for the "Campo Sportivo", the soccer field and then turn right again to enter Via Martiri di Scalvaia. Casa Gigliola is at number 15 opposite a park with a children's playground.

From Rome:

Head in the direction of Civitavecchia/Grosseto. When you reach Grosseto, take highway SS223 towards Siena. After around 50km you will find the exit for San Lorenzo a Merse and Monticiano on your left, just a few hundred meters after passing a gas station and a holiday farm called “La Locanda del Ponte” on your right. The exit will be on your left, so prepare to slow down because you need to cross the road. Leave the SS223/E78 and get on the SP32 following signs to Monticiano. Continue on this road for 13km. When you reach a T-junction at the entrance to the village of Monticiano, turn left to enter the village. You will arrive at a large square with a modern marble fountain. Turn right and follow Via Grossetana, and then turn right at Via Borgianni and follow the signs for the "Campo Sportivo", the soccer field and then turn right again to enter Via Martiri di Scalvaia. Casa Gigliola is at number 15 opposite a park with a children's playground.

From Pisa:

Take Autostrada A12 (Genova/Civitavecchia) towards Livorno (green signs). At the end of the auotstrada, follow directions towards Grosseto/Rome. When you reach Grosseto, take highway SS223 towards Siena and follow the directions provided above.

Alternatively, you can exit the highway at Follonica Est and follow for Massa Marittima, Chiusdino, Monticiano. The road is longer and slower but very scenic.

The third option from Pisa is to take highway A12 driving towards Genova, and then get on the highway A11 to reach Florence. At Florence, take highway A1 heading towards Rome. Exit at "Firenze Certosa" and follow the directions provided above.
